By car from London

Roughly 3.5–4 hours via the M4/M5 and A303 (180 miles). Most guests leave London before 8am on a Saturday or after 7pm on a Friday to avoid the worst of the West Country traffic. Exit the A30 at Honiton, then 10 miles south through Branscombe village.

By car from Bristol

Around 1h 30m via the M5 (75 miles) — exit at junction 28 (Cullompton) for Honiton, then south to Branscombe.

By car from Exeter

30–35 minutes via the A30 and B3174 (20 miles). The most scenic approach is via Sidford and Branscombe Square.

Train to Honiton

Honiton (10.5 miles / 25 minutes by taxi from Hole Mill) is the closest mainline station. Direct trains from London Waterloo, journey time ~3 hours. Local taxis: AVS Cars (01404 41122) or Honiton Taxis (01404 47000). Booking ahead is recommended on Friday and Saturday evenings.

Train to Exeter St Davids

Exeter St Davids (23 miles / 40 minutes by taxi) is the largest station nearby. Direct trains from London Paddington in ~2h 10m, plus services from Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester and Edinburgh. Better for west-of-England visitors than Honiton.

Local bus 899

Stagecoach's 899 runs Sidmouth – Branscombe Square – Beer – Seaton along the coast, useful for point-to-point coast-path walks. Get off at "Branscombe (Square)" — Hole Mill is a 12-minute walk down the valley lane from there.
