Hole Mill

Ask the owner

Is the house suitable for someone very elderly with mobility issueS?

Asked by John Franks

Hi John, Thanks for your question about accessibility. I'm afraid Hole Mill isn't ideally suited for guests with significant mobility issues. The property is a 350-year-old converted water mill set in a natural valley location, so there are some inherent challenges with the terrain and building layout. The approach to the house involves uneven ground and steps, and inside there are original features like different floor levels and narrow doorways typical of a historic mill. The bathrooms are upstairs, and while we have ground floor spaces, the overall layout isn't designed with mobility aids in mind. If you'd like to discuss the specific needs you have in mind, I'm happy to chat through the details by email to give you a clearer picture of what might work. Hope that helps — Ian
